Graduate Assistant Youth Development

1 Full-time graduate Assistant Position (20 Hours a week)

Primary Purpose

The YDEV GA will partner with the YDEV Team for 20 hours a week, including a two-hour weekly team meeting, four hours of student support (intake meetings and care coordination), four hours of support in an undergraduate course, and ten hours of engagement in projects, research, social media presence, and alumni relationships. The graduate assistant will be a part of a strong team of mentors in a department that centers care, identity, advocacy, and shared leadership.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to social justice and antiracist education;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to accept some direction but also be a self-starter;
  • Experience working with young people or organizations that serve young people;
  • Desire to work with a variety of stakeholders, including faculty, program alumni, and community partners
  • Exemplary community and public relations skills;
  • Effective oral and written communications;
  • Makes decisions using an asset-based framework.
