Painting Student Work

B.A. or B.F.A. in Studio Art with Concentration in Painting

The painting studio sequence offers students instruction in basic skills and techniques of oil and acrylic painting.

Your Learning Progression

Beginning courses are sequentially structured to build fundamental skills in perceptual observation and interpretation. In advanced courses, students continue to build their formal vocabulary while focusing on refining ideas and concepts developed through a growing awareness and understanding of historical and contemporary painting issues.

Integration of Software

We incorporate various computer software programs into our pedagogical practice, both to evaluate paintings while in progress and to help students visualize possible changes. Special emphasis is given to teaching and complying to health and safety standards in studio practice.
