Graduate Assistant English

Full-Time, 20 hours/week

Duties and Responsibilities

The English Department invites applications for a graduate assistantship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Our graduate assistants apprentice with a full-time English faculty member and/or the Director of the Writing Center. Duties and responsibilities may include working as a teaching assistant in a First-Year Writing class, an introductory literature class, or a course in the assistant’s particular field of interest; tutoring in the Writing Center; assisting faculty with research projects; and/or developing resources for student outreach and professional development.

Benefit of the Graduate Assistant to Students

This experience can be tailored for the graduate assistant to provide useful training and a valuable credential should they go on to seek a PhD or work in fields that involve writing, research, or editorial skills.

Qualifications

a student must carry a minimum of 6 credits in the English MA program
