What We Do

The Department of Accounting prepares students for entry-level positions in the field of accounting and management.

Accountants in the United States earn nearly double the median wage of all occupations nationwide and can expect above-average job growth projections. 

High Demand, High Compensation

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the demand for accountants remains high. RIC’s accounting program prepares you for entry-level positions, such as:

  • external auditor
  • tax accountant
  • corporate accountant 
  • management accountant

Many of our students choose to become certified public accountants (CPAs) – the gold standard in the accounting profession. Depending on the courses you take in the program, the Accounting Department will prepare you for the CPA exam.
