Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is designed for academically motivated high school juniors and seniors who are ready for college-level coursework. A 3.0 GPA or higher is recommended. Students who don't meet these guidelines may still be considered with a recommendation from their school counselor, administrator, or teacher.

Browse the Rhode Island College course catalog and meet with your high school counselor to choose courses that fit your graduation requirements. We recommend selecting a few backup options in case your first choice fills up before registration.

To register for Dual Enrollment, you'll first create a free online registration account. After your account is set up, you'll receive instructions and a scheduled registration time by email.

Already Participated in EEP?

Call the Registrar's Office at 401-456-8213 to activate your account for on-campus Dual Enrollment courses.

Dual Enrollment registration takes place about one week before classes begin. Check the Academic Calendar for the registration date for non-degree students, then log in to MyRIC at your scheduled registration time to enroll in your course.

What to Expect

Dual Enrollment courses are real college classes, so you'll be expected to meet college-level expectations. At the beginning of the semester, your instructor will provide a course syllabus outlining what you'll learn, assignments, grading, important deadlines, and classroom expectations.

Stay on Track

Be sure to keep up with assignments and pay attention to important course deadlines, including add/drop and withdrawal dates. Because you're earning college credit, the grade you earn becomes part of your official Rhode Island College transcript.

Thinking About Dropping a Course?

Talk with your high school counselor before making a decision. Since Dual Enrollment courses count toward your high school graduation requirements, dropping a course could affect your graduation plan and your college record.

After You Complete Your Course

Your final grade will appear on both your high school transcript and your official Rhode Island College transcript. If needed, you can request an official RIC transcript when applying to other colleges and universities.
