As a social work student passionate about racial justice and equity in education, I began serving Providence public schools as a school bus driver in 2017. My commitment to serving students burgeoned, most recently reflected in the completion of my third-year leadership residency as a student success lead at Generation Teach. I am also the daughter of two Caribeño immigrant parents and cultivate the value of storytelling through poetry, utilizing the arts to amplify social and political inequities. In the future, I hope to marry advocacy work with my love for creativity as I go to obtain my MSW and continue looking for opportunities to impact underserved groups in our school systems.
