Since leaving RIC, Dr. Cvornyek has been a faculty member in the Florida state system, where he has learned firsthand how political interventions in education directly affect how and what students learn in the classroom. The Florida model has quickly spread to other parts of the country, so the experience there offers a cautionary tale for all of us in higher education.
