Learning 4 Life
The mission of Learning 4 Life (L4L) is to connect students to on and off campus resources and opportunities. Students served by L4L are empowered to overcome life obstacles on their journey to graduation such as, access to basic needs, managing competing priorities, and navigating the campus systems. L4L’s team of staff and trained peer mentors (Navigators) support and advocate for students.
What We Do
Learning 4 Life has a team of staff and trained peer mentors who provide case management services to students. The L4L team can help students to:
- identify and problem solve barriers to academic, social, and personal success
- assess the type of assistance and resources needed
- explore personal strengths, self-care and wellness strategies
- develop or strengthen their support system.
- become more confident navigating and access on- and off-campus resources
- stay on track with identified goals
- overcome obstacles in accessing help
- proactively address problems/stressors to prevent more serious difficulties

As a student who came into college afraid and not confident that I would be able to complete a college education, Learning 4 Life strengthened my confidence and served as a compass in what seemed like a foreign land to me."

At Rhode Island College, the Learning 4 Life (L4L) Center is an inclusive space where students are welcomed with open arms. Students receive assistance with everything from addressing barriers to education as well as housing and food insecurities.
