At the heart of L4L is the Navigator model of student support, peer-to-peer mentorship and linkages to resources for students through a network of trained students in partnership with the RIC School of Social Work.

Meet Our Navigators!

Alexis L4L Navigator

Hi, I’m Alexis. This is my second year as an L4L Lead Navigator. I graduated from Smith College with a bachelor’s in Psychology and Statistical Data Science. I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. During my free time, I love to read manga, play video games, and draw. I have a strong desire to work in the helping profession and aim to be as helpful as I can.

Arianna L4L Navigator

Hello! My name is Arianna, and my pronouns are she/her. I am in my senior year and will graduate this spring with my Bachelor of Social Work. From there, I will be pursuing my master's degree. I have experience working in a children’s psychiatric hospital, a domestic violence shelter and hotline, and working within the Court Advocate’s office. Something I am passionate about is helping others achieve their most authentic and happiest life possible, however that looks to you! I am an animal lover and currently have one dog, one gerbil, and three cats. A few of my favorite hobbies include reading, gardening, thrift shopping and Taylor Swift. I look forward to getting to know you (even if you aren’t a Swiftie!) and to having a great semester, taking it one day at a time! 

Ashley L4L Navigator

Hi there! My name is Ashley and I am excited to join the L4L family as a Graduate Assistant. I have a B.A. in Communications from St. John’s University in New York and I am currently in my first year of the School Psychology Master’s Program. I love movies, books, and music and would love to chat about them all! I also enjoy hiking and spending time with my friends, my fiancé, and my dog, Max. I am new to the area and always looking for new restaurants to try. Please let me know about your favorite restaurants and best recommendations.​

Christopher L4L Navigator

Hello, my name is Christopher! I will be at interning at L4L as a Navigator. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Rhode Island. I am currently a first-year student in the MSW program. This will be my first year interning at L4L and I couldn’t be more thrilled to join the team. I enjoy listening to music, playing video games, traveling, and going to the gym, to name a few. My goal is to become a licensed therapist to serve the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as the black community. I look forward to working with the diverse population of students here at Rhode Island College.

Diana L4L Navigator

Hello! My name is Diana and I am a Navigator intern at Learning 4 Life (L4L)! I am currently in my last year of undergrad at Rhode Island College (RIC), as I will soon be graduating with the class of 2024 with my Bachelor of Social Work and a minor in Psychology. I plan on continuing my education in the field of social work and I recently have been accepted into the Accelerated BSW to MSW Program! I love to challenge myself and create new connections with other people, as I grow as an individual in society who has a heart for helping others, so that they can succeed and accomplish their goals in life. When I am not studying or attending class, I love practicing self-care such as going to the gym, making a cup of tea, sleeping, and reading books (romance and non-fiction). At L4L, I would like to be the best that I can be so that I can provide support and resources for my Scholars in order for them to succeed in reaching their designated goals.

Em L4L Navigator

Hi! My name is Em (he/she) and I am a Graduate Assistant at L4L. My program of study is the Master of Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I am so thrilled to be serving my fellow students through the L4L program. When I am not running around campus, I enjoy reading fantasy/horror books, playing video games, and walking my dog, Danny Boy. If you have any recs for books/games, please let me know!  

Hunter L4L Navigator

Hi, my name is Hunter (he/him), and I am excited to serve as a Lead Navigator with Learning 4 Life! I am currently a graduate student at RIC in the Licensed Mental Health Counseling program. I graduated from URI in 2023 with my B.A. in Psychology and Sociology. Aside from school, I enjoy archery, music, spending time with my friends, family, pets, and watching TV. I am thrilled to be able to get to know and support our Scholars at L4L this year!

Katie L4L Navigator

Hi, my name is Katie and I am in my senior year of the Bachelor of Social Work program at RIC. Additionally, I am enrolled in my first year of the dual accelerated Master of Social Work program. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with students, as this marks my first year as a Navigator with L4L. I am passionate about helping others achieve success and reach their goals. Some of my favorite hobbies include reading, discovering new restaurants, thrifting, and baking. I am excited to begin working here and am looking forward to growing and developing my knowledge and skills with L4L! 

Laura L4L Navigator

Hi! My name is Laura, my pronouns are she/her. I am a second-year graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at RIC. I am so excited to help other students by being part of the L4L team and working at the Food 4 Thought Pantry and Lounge. During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, and I love dancing.  

Megan L4L Navigator

My name is Megan. I am returning to Rhode Island College after earning my BA in Psychology in 2001 to pursue my Master of Social Work after working professionally in the human services field for over 20 years. I have two wonderful children and four adorable cats. I am a RI native and have seen 49 out of 50 states (planning Alaska trip next!). I live to travel, hike, do outdoor activities, and interact with people from all walks of life. I also enjoy songwriting/singing and playing the piano and guitar. I am excited to be part of the L4L team as an intern this year and hope I will get the chance to know and support you on your journey!  

Mel L4L Navigator

My name is Mel. I graduated from RIC’s Bachelor of Social Work program in the spring of 2023 and I am now a graduate student in the Master of Social Work program. This is my second year with Learning for Life, and I am now a Graduate Assistant Lead Navigator. I am passionate about connecting students to resources. When I am not doing schoolwork or in class, you will usually find me in a CrossFit or boxing gym, or spending time with my kids. 

Tess L4L Navigator

Hi everybody! My name is Tess (she/her), and I am currently a graduate student in RIC’s School of Social Work. As one of Learning 4 Life’s Lead Navigators this year, I am really looking forward to getting to know all of our Scholars and supporting them in a variety of ways! When I am not at RIC, I really enjoy spending time outside, hanging out with my friends and family, and binge reading. If you are ever looking for a good book recommendation, you know where to find me! 

Yume L4L Navigator

My name is Yume, and I am a Graduate Assistant at L4L. I am currently in my final year of RIC’s Master of Social Work program. I am thrilled to be a part of L4L because as someone who struggled in school, I was able to ultimately succeed with support from others. I now hope to give back and help others achieve their goals. In my free time, you will find me at the gym, playing word games, or eating good food!
