The Department of Sociology administers three programs: the sociology major, the justice studies major and the gerontology minor. Because of considerable overlap in course requirements across the sociology, justice studies and gerontology curricula, many students are able to pursue a double major or combine a major in one program with a minor in another.
Rhode Island College is an exclusive member of the Common Application. All students applying for undergraduate admission must complete the Common Application. This includes freshmen, transfers, second degree students, readmits and international applicants.
The NSC fellowship provides BIPOC faculty with a nurturing and supportive community while they engage in professional development.
