Our students develop and apply knowledge, skills, conceptual understanding and values to solve real-world problems.
The Department of Sociology administers three programs: the sociology major, the justice studies major and the gerontology minor. Because of considerable overlap in course requirements across the sociology, justice studies and gerontology curricula, many students are able to pursue a double major or combine a major in one program with a minor in another.
