The Department of Physical Sciences offers degree programs in chemistry and physics as well as courses in Earth and space science. Our learning environment is both academically rigorous and student-centered, with a low faculty-to-student ratio. Research is a key component of the work faculty do, and almost all of their research is done in collaboration with students. Through lab research, you will learn to generate hypotheses, carry out experiments, interpret data and communicate your scientific results in written and verbal form. Graduates of our program leave well-prepared for advanced study or a professional career in one of the branches of physical science.
