What We Do

The department of Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the support of academics and administrative functions including planning, management and direction of technology initiatives at Rhode Island College.

The Rhode Island College ITS department provides the campus community information technology services including student systems, wired and wireless networks, telephones, event management systems, cyber security systems, email, classroom and lab services, learning management systems, lecture capture, training, and many other technology related services.

ITS Help Center

The ITS Help Center is a single point of contact for information and assistance with classroom, desktop, network and telephone technologies. The Help Center also provides audiovisual service and support for the campus.

Management Information Services

Management Information Services is responsible for providing technical support for all administrative functions at Rhode Island College. The major administrative computer systems of the College supported by the MIS staff - Student Administration, Human Resources and Financials - are part of the PeopleSoft enterprise software suite for colleges and universities. Additional database support in areas not currently served by PeopleSoft is also provided to departments as well as scanning services for timesheets and testing.

Network and Telecommunications

Network and Telecommunications is responsible for the maintenance of the data and voice infrastructure on the Rhode Island College campus. Over the last three years the College has installed a new gigabit data network and a modern digital phone system. This major investment in a high-speed computer network and telephony facilities will enable Network and Telecommunications to ensure a high quality of service for students, faculty, and staff.​​​​
